M&L HORSEMANSHIP

I have had a lifelong dream of having a horse, which I'm just getting around to as an adult. I started taking sporadic lessons with a trainer several years ago and decided that I wanted to start riding on a regular basis. My boyfriend was new to horses, but decided to try out riding with me as well. We were happy to have the option to do lessons together with Laura and Michelle, with time spent on both of us at our respective levels. Everything has changed, since I began working with Laura and Michelle. In six months, my knowledge, confidence, understanding and everything about horses has increased exponentially. I am able to ride their horses and learn about each type of horse with our lessons. I had limited experience riding Western and had never been exposed to dressage prior to working with Michelle. I have learned dressage and gained confidence riding either Western or English. I have also learned that there is more to working with horses than just riding, and Michelle has taught me how to interact with, care for, and conduct myself around horses. She is patient, kind and encouraging with her students and still sets the example of the right kind of handling with the horses. I have also had the pleasure of watching her assist my beginner boyfriend to become an accomplished rider of her non-beginner horse. This has been truly amazing to see the bond form between these two. Michelle's horses are fantastic to ride, and it is great to see trainers that match up horses to the rider so well. As result of working with Laura and Michelle, I am currently leasing and training my own horse with their guidance and direction. I will be purchasing the horse that they located for me in the near future and accomplishing my lifelong goal of working with a horse. None of this would be possible without their guidance and support, as they are giving to their animals and the people that they work with. Michelle offers a support system and education that transforms those of us non-horse people into qualified horse riders and owners. Thank you for everything that you have done for me!

​All I can say about Michelle in terms of lessons is nothing but AMAZING things. I am new to horseback riding and Michelle has done an amazing job building my confidence and knowledge of horses. I came to Michelle with literally not knowing anything about horses and am now in the market for leases or owning horses in less then a year. I feel that the knowledge that Michelle has given me has me on the right hoof to success in riding and ownership. I currently am riding Michelle's Quarter Horse and isn't known to be a beginner's horse and I feel like it has been giving lessons for years. In addition to lessons and knowledge Michelle knows how to make you feel important and can have a good time at the same time being a teacher. I look forward to many more lessons and building a friendship with her outside of lessons. Thanks Michelle

Laura is passionate about horses and teaching. My daughter is 7 years old and Laura is amazing with her. She is calm, kind, and knows how to teach and make people comfortable. She has a very beautiful relationship between her horses, and she teaches you to build this relationship step by step. I am taking lessons as well and am learning everything from grooming, feeding, building bonds with the horses, and riding. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested about horses and riding.

Laura is a gifted riding instructor. No matter where you start with your riding skills, she has the ability to see what you need and take you further. I am a solid intermediate rider. Laura helped me correct problems and learn new skills. I observed her with beginners and she does the same with them. Also, her school horses are an integral part of the learning process. They are not push-button, but will actually do what you ask of them so you can feel and see when your cues are working. All together, an awesome team.

"Laura has helped me get back in the saddle after 18 years. Her horses are fantastic, well rounded, safe, and offer a challenge for riders of all levels. Laura's riding lessons are approximately 1 hour, however she has allowed my lessons to go over the time schedules when needed. She is a good instructor for learning the basics and more. She takes the time to properly address safety for horse and rider as well as the details required to properly care for and own a horse. The care and time she puts into her horses is reflected by the amazing fitness level and happy attitude her animals have."

Instantly felt a connection to the instructors and horses. Such a comfortable place and tons of horse education, even on my first day. Met two other students who were very friendly and were really enjoying themselves as well. So glad to be back in the saddle!

My children absolutely adore working with Michelle! One of my kids has some special needs and Michelle is incredibly patient and supportive of her as well as being able to give her just the right push. My children have learned about the care and keeping of horses as well as riding. We're so thrilled to have found this place!
